Can I use a subdomain with SSL? -
|
| |
No, you can not use a subdomain with SSL through the actual subdomain. You must use the full path to the subdomain to access it's contents via SSL. Example: http://surf.yourdomain.com/ can not be accessed through https://surf.yourdomain.com/. It must be instead, accessed through https://www.yourdomain.com/surf/. |

How do I setup SSL? -
|
| |
Data that you want available for access via SSL is separated from your normal data. Therefore, to do this we must create you a special account on our secure server. E-mail support@1stdesign.net and tell us you want to get setup with your SSL account. |

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Overview -
|
| |
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a protocol which allows client/server communication via low to high grade encryption.
Similar to HTTP protocol in the headers, SSL first encrypts all data on the server side before sending this data back to the client. Any third parties which intercept this data in transit will intercept encrypted data which will be useless.
All clients of 1st Design can take advantage of using SSL on their websites for no charge. Our anonymous SSL domain ensures that your website has no affiliation with our organization. |
